JOAL FADIOUTH

Morning Discovery by 4wd cars or bus of JOAL and FADIOUTH Island located at 30km from Sally. Discover JOAL, birthplace of the poet-president L.Senghor, first African who became a member of the French Academy in 1983. 

Linked with JOAL by a bridge, the island is characterized by the shell cemetery and millet granaries on stilts. it is accessible by bough- canoes carved from the trunk of Fromager. Visit the public Church of St. Francis Xavier, and the mosque of the island, a symbol of secularism and religious tolerance in Senegal.

On the way back visit of a very large drying and smoking fish unit is at JOAL.
