Le Siné Saloum, entre mer et bolongs

A hybrid territory between the land and the sea covered by thousands of land or mangrove islands and islets sometimes. Like an asthmatic river, the Saloum, turns into thousands of channels of brackish water and hosts one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. This is the western half of the Sine Saloum. The eastern half is the reverse of the green and teeming with life landscape. It is A vast salt eaten area with a thin savannah that thickens by the Gambian border. The Sine Saloum National Parc covers a huge part making this region sparsely populated because of the hostility of the wetland ecosystem. The casual visitor will be amazed by this region of a thousand contrasts.
